‘Brewbot’ App Designed To Make Homebrewing a Breeze

Homebrewing your own beer is a methodical process that requires knowledge of the ingredients along with the right equipment and best brewing practices. The truth is that many people avoid the hobby due to its high level of technicality. If it’s not done right, you’ll end up wasting all of your ingredients on spoiled beer. Well, a UK tech company is trying to solve this problem with an app called ‘Brewbot.’

According to the company’s KickStarter page, Brewbot is a “smart brewing appliance that you can control and monitor with your smartphone. Our goal was to make an easy-to-use, controlled environment that is aesthetically pleasing, and frees up brewers to focus on the recipes. You don’t need to know anything about brewing. You are guided through the process from beginning to end.”

It’s important to note, however, that Brewbot is still in the early stages of development, which is why the company is looking for outside investors to help launch their innovative new app. KickStarter is a crowdsourcing website that allows entrepreneurs and businesses to find investors for their projects. Currently, Brewbot has received £58,443 of the company’s £100,000 goal. And with 21 days still left in the project, I think it’s safe to say they meet their £100,000 goal.

So, what makes Brewbot such a helpful tool for home beer brewers? Well, the app — along with its sister device — handles everything from measuring the water to monitoring the temperature. Anyone can successfully brew their own beer using this app. Beginners are no longer forced to learn through trial and error; simply hook your smartphone on the device, run the app, and follow the instructions.

Currently, Brewbot is being designed strictly for Apple-based iOS smartphones and tablets (sorry Android users!). The company has declined to comment on whether or not they will release an Android or Windows version of the app. With that said, it would likely be a relatively simple task to port the app over to alternative operations.

Brewing beer is pretty simple as long as you add the right ingredients and brew at the proper temperature. However, brewing deliciously flavorful beer is whole different story. You need to use the exact amount of hops, sugar, yeast and water to achieve a balanced flavor that works well on the taste buds.
