Are you the proud owner of a loyal canine companion? According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), there are approximately 70-80 million dogs owned in the U.S., which means 37-47% of U.S. homes own at least one dog. Well, it looks like a European brewing company is taking advantage of our love for dogs with their release of a new type of alcohol-free beer designed specifically for pooches.
Baker’s Brew: A Dog-Friendly Beer
Baker’s Brew is a deliciously rich new beer that’s formulated for man’s best friend. Granted, it shouldn’t be used in place of H2O, Baker’s Brew makes a wonderful “occasional” treat that can be poured into a separate water dish or poured over a dog’s food for added flavor.
“Bakers Brew is a complementary pet food for dogs. Serve approximately 60ml per day as a treat for adult dogs or pour over dry food for extra flavour. Add to drinking water occasionally for enhanced taste,” wrote Baker’s Brew on their official company website.
It should come as no surprise that Baker’s Brew is available in two distinguishable flavors that all dogs — big and small — are sure to love. The company offers its dog-gone-licious beer in chicken and beef flavor varieties. And while it may look like a traditional beer from the naked eye, it’s alcohol free, non-carbonated, fat-free, low in sodium, and brewed with all-natural organic ingredients.
Most dogs will lap up the delicious beef and chicken flavored beer within seconds after placing a bowl in front of them. But there’s more to Baker’s Brew than its canine-friendly flavors; it’s also loaded in essential vitamins and minerals. The company makes this unique brew using spent grain, ginger, cinnamon, flax seed, honey and glucosamine powder. With a healthy serving of Vitamin E and glucosamine powder, Baker’s Brew promotes a healthy immune system while protecting the joints against arthritis.
Can I Drink Baker’s Brew?
You might be wondering if Baker’s Brew is suitable for human consumption. There’s certainly nothing stopping you from drinking one of these brews yourself, but the company displays a label on each of its bottles, saying “FOR YOUR DOG NOT YOU.” I’m all for trying new flavors, but I don’t see the appeal in drinking non-alcoholic beer or chicken flavored beer, which is probably why the company decided to include this label on Baker’s Brew.
