In this post, we’re going to reveal some essential tips for making delicious apple pie moonshine.
Make Your Moonshine
You’ll first need to make a batch of moonshine before you can infuse it with apple pie flavors. Some people use 190-proof alcohol like Golden Grain or Everclear, but this isn’t true moonshine. If you want the real deal, you must first make a batch of moonshine. Trust me, the additional time it requires will prove to be well worth it in the long run. Boil Your Ingredients
There are dozens of different ways to make apple pie moonshine, and you can even come with your own by modifying recipes. With that said, one of the most popular methods is to boil a mixture of apple juice, apple cider, sugar and cinnamon sticks on the stove. The exact measurements depends on your personal preference. Until you find out what combination works best for you, start with one gallon of cider, one gallon of apple juice, a handful of cinnamon sticks and 2 cups of white granulated sugar.
Place all of the previously mentioned ingredients into a large pot — do not add the moonshine yet — and bring to a roaring boil. Let it boil for about 20 seconds before reducing the heat down to a simmer. Now, the longer you let the ingredients simmer, the more flavor your moonshine will have. I know some people are eager to start drinking their apple pie shine, but you should let the ingredients simmer for at least 30-40 minutes.
Once your pot of ingredients has finished simmering, you can then remove it from the heat source and add your moonshine. Remember, moonshine is highly flammable so take your pot of ingredients away from the stove. Pour in 2-3 pints of moonshine and thoroughly stir it so the flavors will mix in. You are then free to enjoy your fresh batch of apple pie moonshine!
